Paul appears to be a long-time friend and partner of Christopher Johnson, and was helping him collect fuel samples. He does not appear to be very intelligent, and acts rashly when confronted with situations in which he is uncomfortable.
He appears to have some combat ability, and typical strength for a non-human.
He is killed by Kobus Venter after becoming hostile to Wikus and some other humans.
Then, his body is seen in the MNU when he and wikus are going to recover the fluid.
Cristopher stops for a moment to look at him. But when Wikus reminds him of his son, he reacts and proceeds with the mission.
